Zen Pinball

Those using Android devices powered by Tegra can lend an ear to the latest offering by ZEN Studios. ZEN Pinball THD, an optimized version of the PS3 title for Nvidia Tegra–powered Android smartphones and tablets has been launched. Apparently, the title is unveiled for the first time on a mobile platform.

The game employs the power of Tegra’s GeForce GPU and dual-core CPU to deliver a hyper-realistic, graphically-rich pinball gaming experience. It sets a new standard for realistic ball physics and graphical detail in pinball video games. ZEN Pinball THD touts of unmatchable visuals, challenging tables, true-to-life ball and table physics. This pinball game comprises a variety of in-game missions such as head-to-head online multiplayer bouts and multi-day worldwide tournaments.

“ZEN Pinball is one of the best arcade games on game consoles. And ZEN Studios is bringing that same experience to mobile devices for the very first time. It speaks volumes they’ve chosen Tegra as the platform to make this happen,” said Ashu Rege, Vice President of Content and Technology at Nvidia.

The ultimate destination for casual gamers and pinball enthusiasts, ZEN Pinball THD accommodates several vibrant, 3D tables and the Sorcerer’s Lair table. The ancient magical Citadel includes Sorcerer’s Lair. Here players have to take up the role of a brother and sister duo who find themselves outmatched by an evil Sorcerer.

For survival, gamers have to overcome the Sorcerer’s arsenal of attacks, like skeletons, spiders and ghosts. The pair has to reveal magical secrets with the help of Whisper, a friendly ghost trapped in the Citadel. Only when the duo ends the Sorcerer’s reign, the Citadel can attain its peaceful existence.

ZEN Studios will be exhibiting the Sorcerer’s Lair table for ZEN Pinball THD at the 2011 Google I/O Developer Conference in San Francisco. The pinball game dubbed as ZEN Pinball THD will be available soon on Tegra Zone as a free app in the Android Market.
