Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 phones get Google Maps 4.1 with Search by Voice

Google Maps 4.1 Google further simplifies navigation with the Search by Voice. According to the Official Google Mobile Blog, Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 phone users can now search in Google Maps for mobile with their voice. Search by Voice was previously made available for Blackberry and Android smartphones.

Reportedly, the search by voice option allows users to look for what they need simply by calling out the search terms instead of typing them. To search, users need to open Google Maps on their phone and press the ‘call’ button and speak out their search. The feature works fine with all searches supported by Google Maps for mobiles such as places, addresses, particular businesses or category of businesses.

Apparently, the settings page has been tweaked to include features like search by voice language choices. Users can choose their preferred accent that includes English and Mandarin Chinese. Moreover, incase of a query users can use the ‘Report a problem’ option available in Maps.

Users can download Google Maps for mobile 4.1 for Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 from m.google.com/maps from their mobile web browser. This update has been made available in all countries and languages wherever Google Maps for mobile is applicable.
