US arrival of Samsung Galaxy S II this fall through AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile

Samsung Galaxy S II Smartphone After dropping not-so-subtle hints with a video teaser just a week ago, Samsung has now officially announced the US arrival of Galaxy S II through AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile network carriers. So all those U.S. residents wanting to lay their hands on this device (since its release in other parts of the world) can now do so this fall.

According to the company, this smartphone is already a global success since it has attained the 5 million worldwide sales mark. All three variants to be released in US will feature prime attractions of the smartphone like 4.3-inch super AMOLED plus display technology with Samsung TouchWiz user interface, dual-core processor, and the 2.3 Gingerbread version of Android.

“The unveiling of the Galaxy S II is a landmark achievement for Samsung, our carrier customers and consumers. Five million Galaxy S II smartphones have been sold around the world and that number increases every day. We believe the cutting-edge design, features and user experience of this innovative device will share the same level of success in the U.S,” expressed Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Mobile.

This 4G enabled handset encompasses an 8MP main camera with flash and autofocus features as well as a 2MP front facing camera for the purpose of video calling. The device allows 1080p full HD video recording and also supports video conferencing services like Skype, Fring, Qik, and Tango.

The Galaxy S II, company acronym for Super Smart, allows connectivity using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DLNA and GPS. Easy access to a host of social networking websites is provided with Samsung Social Hub, by separating Feeds and Messages in convenient folders. Along with Android Market, Google Mobile services like Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, etc. can also be accessed.

Apparently, the AT&T version of Samsung Galaxy S II is titled as Attain, Sprint model will be known as Epic 4G Touch, and T-Mobile will release Hercules. Pricing details are expected to be announced soon while Sprint is supposed to be the first carrier coming out with its Galaxy S II handset.
