Samsung Logo It’s time to get acquainted with the new trio of the Samsung Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y smartphones. All three handsets are powered by Samsung’s bada 2.0 platform that allows multi-tasking, Wi-Fi Direct, voice recognition and Near Field Communication.

The devices also show off some advanced features like photo and file sharing without internet networking, mobile payment along with transport pass-card recharge. They are inclusive of the ChatON service that enables global mass communication between all major phones. Additionally, Samsung Apps which is an integrated application store for Samsung smartphones stays put. Along with an enhanced UI and store attributes, the app also provides an array of local and global apps.

“Smartphones are gaining popularity by the day. The new additions to the Wave portfolio are the first to benefit from the power of our bada 2.0 platform; the full extent of our commitment is clear to see in each device. We’ve produced easy-to-use smartphones that will inspire the market,” enthused JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications business.

The Wave 3 flaunts a chic look with a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and a 1.4GHz processor. Coming in with HSPA connectivity, it fits compactly into a 9.9mm brushed-metal case. Crafted with anodized aluminium, its slim and solid unibody exterior is touted to be appealing to the stylish user. The handset is inclusive of Samsung’s integrated Social Hub and Music Hub that enables purchase and downloading content over-the-air.

The Wave M is ideal for social butterflies with ChatON and Social Hub. It sports a 3.65-inch HVGA screen that is sculpted from tempered glass and has a metallic exterior. The Wave Y boosts of a metallic hairline body with a large 3.2-inch HVGA screen. Aiming at users new to the world of smartphones, it includes simple personalization through Live Panel, Lock Screen and Folder Management. Moreover, it features Music Hub that ought to deliver jukebox right in the pocket of users.

The Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y will be presented at Samsung’s Stand at IFA 2011 in Berlin. The pricing and availability details have not been revealed yet.
