The Zipcar Android App v1.0 was officially released by Zipcar, which is a successful car sharing network. This app gives users the benefit to seek and reserve Zipcars by time, location and vehicle type as well as check their availability on maps, obtain directions to the locations and dismiss or extend a reservation.
This application was previously in its beta form wherein Zipcar members tested it and gave their feedback to make necessary improvements. The application that has been introduced sans the public beta tag now is supposedly speedier and more reliable than the test version and operates on OS 2.1 or higher Android platform. The Zipcar Android App v1.0 is a component of a portfolio of integrated mobile applications which also has Zipcar’s iPhone application along with a mobile portal that can be used on BlackBerry devices and smartphones. These can be utilized to make or change reservations and two-way SMS texting which sanction the car to reach out to members during their reservations through mobile devices.
People who are not members can also make use of this app by downloading it to search for cars and their respective sites and commence the application procedure for membership. As for those who are members but don’t own a smartphone, the company has an interactive, automated call line that identifies members and their reservations and is capable of changing their options.
