Jelly Bean update announced for Asus Transformer tablets

So soon after Google’s latest OS release, Asus Transformer tablets have already lined up to receive their Jelly Bean update. The upgrade will specifically waft towards the Transformer Pad, the Transformer Pad Prime and the Transformer Pad Infinity, in the ‘coming months.’

The Android 4.1 OS is designed to optimize performance and enhance the user’s experience through an effortless, intuitive UI. It will bring along a host of differences in terms of the manner in which content is displayed. One of the improved features is the onscreen keypad that will offer text-to-speech capabilities and voice typing for easy texting and emailing. Google Now will update users with the condition of the weather, the traffic to be expected and more.

“We are pleased to announce that we will be updating many of our tablet products to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. The Asus Transformer Pad, Asus Transformer Pad Prime and Asus Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive an update to Jelly Bean in the coming months,” reads a post on Asus’s official Facebook page.

The Gesture Mode fosters easy navigation through motions like touch and swipe. Then there is Android Beam that enables users to instantly share content like photos, videos, contacts, web pages or apps by simply tapping two NFC-enabled devices back-to-back. Since the latest OS packs in a couple of new highlights, a number of devices are switching over to it. However, as Android Authority points out, there is still certain ambiguity whether the other products released by the Taiwanese manufacturer will receive the Jelly Bean update.

The Asus Transformer tablets are among a long line of products that have been promised a Jelly Bean update. When exactly this will happen is still uncertain.
