We had previously reported on MiFi 2200 by Novatel Wireless being offered by Sprint back in the month of March this year. Well, almost eight months later, AT&T pulls out its own Mobile Hotspot MiFi 2372 from Novatel Wireless. However, the carrier claims to be the first in the Americas to offer a Mobile Hotspot from Novatel Wireless installed with MiFi OS, widgets and applications support.

This device operates on AT&T’s HSPA 7.2 network and provides concurrent Wi-Fi connectivity for up to five devices. As long as the devices are within 30 feet of the MiFi 2372, it can connect any Wi-Fi-enabled device including cameras, PCs, tablets digital media players, and gaming consoles. This offering is also GPS capable assisting users with connectivity for location-based services.

“No matter if your holiday travels take you to sandy beaches or snowy slopes, the MiFi 2372 Mobile Hotspot will help you connect to the devices and content that matter most,” asserted Michael Woodward, vice president, Mobile Phone Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

“We congratulate AT&T on its introduction of the MiFi 2372 with the MiFi OS, widgets and applications support,” stated Peter Leparulo, chairman and CEO of Novatel Wireless. “The AT&T MiFi 2372 introduces intelligence and added capabilities beyond pure Internet connectivity and is a great complement to AT&T’s extensive mobile broadband offering.”

The AT&T Mobile Hotspot comes with a built-in microSDHC slot up to 32GB. Users will have to procure the microSDHC card as it is not included with this device. It augments the performance for concurrent uploads or downloads and transfer of large file. The Novatel Wireless MiFi OS adds-in functionality and application support. Not to slip by, it now even endows users with quick browser-based access to widgets like SMS and data usage as well as GPS enabled widgets such as GeoWeather and GeoSearch.

The AT&T Mobile Hotspot MiFi 2372 can be acquired from all AT&T company-owned stores nationwide or online for $49.99 after $100 mail-in rebate. The device will hit the store by November 21, 2010.
