AlwaysOnPCUsers who are extremely comfortable working on the PC can now find a similar experience on their Android handsets and iPhones. AlwaysOnPC releases its 1.0 version of the company’s virtual PC app for the Android Market. It comes with over 40 pre-loaded programs consisting of Firefox and a mobile office suite.

It includes a host of productivity tools and capabilities with which users can access PC-like functionalities through the app. Plus they can add browser toolbars such as Yahoo or Google and also install Firefox add-ons like xMarks. With the help of the Open Office, Android owners will be able to copy, edit and paste between apps such as email, Office, Firefox, and photos. They can also save it in common file types like Excel, Word, Powerpoint and many more.

The application is hosted in the ‘Internet Cloud’ and provides an ‘encrypted SSH connection’ which works both ways for all devices. Through this functionality, users can expect robust security and better performance in tasks such as opening large files of more than 100MB from email attachments, uploaded files or an online storage folder like Dropbox. AlwaysOnPC claims that users can open such files ten times faster as compared to other mobile solutions. Along with Dropbox users may use other online folders through Firefox.

Moreover, handset owners are able to multi-task and directly open email attachments in imaging apps or the office. It loads up on games too like Blackjack, Chess, Majongg, Sudoku and others. The application offers 2GB online memory coupled with vector-graphic drawing and image editing programs. The Android version works on OS 2.1 and takes up 373KB space. Additionally, the app provides users with a flash player along with Firefox to let them check out all the content on the internet.

The company also plans to render support for full motion video or audio. Consumers can still connect to websites such as Google Analytics, Facebook games, and several others. Earlier this application was available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, but now it is available on the iPad and the Android devices.

The AlwaysOnPC Virtual PC app is available on the Android Market for a launch offer price of $9.99.
